Cockmere Haven, Eastbourne

We drove down to the beach on the hottest day of March. There’s no wind in the warm air. I was already stunned by the picturesque view walking down from Seaford head. Without any delay, Lilly started throwing pebbles and collecting shells. A few clicks in, I turned around and saw this little one showered by the misty sun light. That’s when I said to myself. ‘This is it. I want to do this with my family more often.’

Eroded chalks

“Do you know a cure for me?”

“Why yes,” he said, “I know a cure for everything. Salt water.”

“Salt water?” I asked him.

“Yes,” he said, “in one way or the other. Sweat, or tears, or the salt sea.”

The ability to keep this white on white look spotless till the end of the day. That’s my girl!

“Yes! I can hear the sea now.”

Thanks for reading my first blog post. I’d love to hear from you. In the comments below. What is your favourite family day trip idea? And why?
